The Warrior’s Code

The Warrior’s Code is a phrase that has been used all throughout history as a way to teach values of pride, respect, honor and so much more. Through three movements your ensemble will explore these values to inspire and impress audiences wherever you perform!

Movement 1

The quiet beginning to this show will be certain to send chills up the spine of your audience as you begin to introduce thematic material. After an epic percussion intro, the winds begin to layer on top of one another… and with a brilliant mellophone and alto saxophone sustain, the opening hit of your show is guaranteed to make a powerful first impression. Just the beginning moments inspire the feelings of pride, boldness and power. A thematic percussion transition seamlessly transitions into an alto saxophone solo, that leads into a full ensemble moment that is sure to keep everyone on their feet. As we begin to close off the movement, all the sections get an opportunity to help build the rising energy as you have a grand ending to your opener with technical prestige.

Movement 2

After all the excitement, your performers will showcase their lyrical playing and strong dynamic contrast. Following a short mallet interlude, a beautiful flute solo soars over all. The full ensemble gorgeously accompanies this solo as we lead into a large moment that will show dynamic contrast with sudden piano moments that grow and fade, whilst your flute soloist once again leads the ensemble with quick technical runs that is guaranteed to give a competitive edge to your ensemble.

Movement 3

Following this beautiful ballad is a high energy, cinematic percussion that features all of your students and their expertise whether it be in the drumline or the front ensemble! Leading the charge right after is a section that features the high and low voices of your winds tossing the melody to build up another beautiful moment that will inspire the feeling of honor. Suddenly, a quick percussion break will lead into an exciting closing hit that gives hints to the opener as the high energy tops off a grand showcase of pride, respect, and honor that warriors all throughout history have pledged to follow!
