New World Symphony
1. Allegro Molto
New World Symphony
2. Largo
New World Symphony
3. Allegro Con Fuoco
Arranged by Rob Stein Percussion by Sean Combes and Dave Britton
This show puts a modern, drum corps style feel to the classic music we all know from Dvorak’s “New World Symphony.”
1. Allegro Molto
The show begins with the low winds playing ominously back field, foreshadowing one of the most well-known melodies of this epic music. As the band and color guard layer in, we build to turn front field into a glorious impact that will get the crowd off their feet right away. The second half of the opening production features melodic content traded off between wind sections, percussion transitions that seamlessly connect ideas, and a powerful ending impact.
2. Largo
This beautiful song features a French horn, mellophone, or flugelhorn solo (or any instrument that would best suit your ensemble.) Beautiful, major tonality chords in this movement provide excellent contrast to the opener.
3. Allegro Con Fuoco
Percussive articulations and front ensemble features start this movement. After high energy features and melodies, a lone trumpet solo echoes the main melody of the song, followed by an epic build and final push to the end of the show.
